Says joint strategy in place to root out militancy, 16 Corps celebrates Rajouri day

Jammu, April 13 (KNO) : Army on Saturday said that forces won’t allow revival of militancy in Kishtwar area of Jammu division of the state. Talking to media persons on the sidelines of Rajouri Day event in Rajouri, GoC White Knight Corps (16 Corps) Liteunant General Paramjit Singh said that three militancy incidents in Kishtwar in last few months are unfortunate incidents and after these incidents a joint strategy has been put in place by army, police and other agencies. According to KNO correspondent, Lt Gen also said that many arrests have been made into the incident while an operation is going on even at this moment and forces are doing our job. “I assure you that militancy won't be allowed to revive in Kishtwar." said GoC Lt Gen Paramjit Singh. He also said that Indian army is giving befitting reply to every nefarious design of Pakistan. He also confirmed that Pakistan used Artillery fire on LoC firing CFV in recent days. Meanwhile, the White Knight Corps celebrated the Rajouri Day with characteristic gaiety and fervor on Saturday. According to a statement issued to KNO, Army said Rajouri Day is being celebrated on 13th April every year “to commemorate the bravery and valour of the gallant soldiers and bravehearts of Rajouri District who laid down their lives for the liberation of Rajouri from rebels and Pakistan Army personnel who had infiltrated from across the border.” The celebrations as per the statement were kick started by GOC, Ace of Spades division on 10th April 2019 by felicitating the Next of Kin of the slain soldiers as a part of the noble initiative to dedicate this year’s Rajouri Day as the ‘Year of Next of Kin’ to honor the supreme sacrifice made by their loved ones for Rajouri’s liberation. The celebrations continued for second day on 12th April 2019 wherein a conclave of Sarpanchs presided over by the GOC, Ace of Spades Division was conducted during which GOC discussed various issues including upliftment of rural areas and sustainable development with 150 Sarpanchs and 134 Ex-servicemen who were present on the occasion. The day had plethora of other events lined up including Assistance Booths for the Ex-Servicemen, Medical Camp, Artificial Limb Centre, a Photo Exhibition by the renowned photographer Maharajkar Singh Isher and much more, leaving the audience impressed and mesmerized, the audience.(KNO)
